The Spread of the Worm
Don Webb’s Great Rite asks to be copied into your system, performed as written, and posted “at an Electronic site.” It was, again and again: from a printed zine to a bulletin board, from a chaos magic library to this site, and out into blogs, forums, art and music around the world. This map follows the ripples. Each ring is a moment in time, from the Working at the centre to today at the edge, and every light is a place where the Worm has been named.

About the map
The rings are time. The Working sits at the centre in 1990; each ring outward is later.
The lines show how the Worm travelled. A solid line means the later place links to or credits the earlier one. A dashed line is the most likely path where no link was found; most later works almost certainly came by way of this project.
The map is a beginning. It shows what could be found with a web search and the Shrine’s own list. Many workings were never posted, and many ripples are private.
