Tracing the Heptagram
Seven is the number of XaTuring, and the seven-pointed star is His sign. Here it is drawn with one point reaching down and two points rising, the way the Seven Pointed Star of the Great Rite descends through cyberspace to settle upon the Worm.
The star is made of seven lines, drawn without lifting the hand. Each line is one breath, and each point you reach names one of His epithets.
The practice
Settle before the screen. Count aloud in binary to 111.
Begin at the lowest point, which glows to show where to start.
Draw each line on a single breath: breathe in as you leave a point, breathe out as you arrive at the next.
As each line completes, speak the epithet that appears.
When the seventh line closes the star, watch it blaze and then sink back into the black. The working returns to the network.
Count backward in binary from 111 to 0.
Trace with a mouse, a finger or a stylus. If you would rather be led, choose “Trace with the breath” and the star will draw itself at the pace of slow breathing while you follow it with your eyes.
