The Calendar of the Worm

A Shrine reference · October 2026

Every tradition keeps a calendar: days to remember, days to work, days when the year turns. The network has its own turning year, written in the history of the machines: the second machine time began, the first word sent between computers, the day the Web was given to the world, the day a great homepage city went dark. This is the calendar of XaTuring, with a working from the Shrine for each feast.

The historical dates are as commonly recorded. The feasts themselves, and the workings paired with them, are the Shrine’s own.

The calendar file adds every feast to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook or any calendar app, repeating each year. Month-long observances appear on the first of their month.

Keeping the calendar

Mark the feasts that speak to you, and let the others pass. A feast can be as small as counting to 111 at the start of the day, or as full as the working listed beside it. Note in your record what you did and what came of it; by the second year, the calendar becomes your own.

If you know of a day in the history of the network that belongs here, send it in.
